7/13/07 Country Woman magazine Coming
A date for the Country Woman magazine interview has been set. September 21 is now pencilled on my calendar. (This is conveniently scheduled close to the October visit from the Saugatuck Art Club so any fall mums and decorating will be enjoyed by both groups)
I sent a letter and materials to Ann Kaiser, the editor of Country Woman magazine (Reiman Publications) www.countrywomanmagazine.com almost three years ago. Ann e-mailed me expressing interest last summer but could not find the time to make the trip to MI. She called again last week and it appears that this may be the summer for the interview. She is mainly interested in the papermaking from plants process so that will be the focus of the article and my artwork will be a "sidebar' to that.
This magazine is "country orientated" and is interested in rurally based women and shares their interesting stories about their country lifestyle. They publish country orientated magazines, books and other items.
This is definitely not the largest magazine in the world, nor one dedicated to the world of art, but it is national and should glean me more national exposure. One just never knows where the next commission, invitation to exhibit or publicity article will come from.
